Cooking

A refreshing and fragrant hibiscus juice, perfect for a revitalizing drink full of natural flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers (about 30 to 40 g)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 bunch fresh mint
  • Sugar or honey (to taste)
  • Lemon juice (to taste)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • A few drops of orange blossom water (optional)

Step-by-step preparation

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and the bunch of mint, then let steep for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the desired flavor intensity.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or a clean cloth to remove the flowers and mint leaves.
  4. Add sugar or honey to taste, then stir in a little lemon juice for a touch of freshness.
  5. Let cool before serving. Add ice cubes for a refreshing cold drink.
  6. For an extra touch of fragrance, add a few drops of orange blossom water.

Tips and advice

  • Sweetened variation: If you prefer a sweeter juice, you can adjust the amount of sugar or honey to your taste.
  • Milder Infusion: Reduce the steeping time to 5 to 7 minutes for a lighter, less intense flavor.
  • For more flavor: You can add a lemon slice or a sprig of mint to the glass before serving for an extra touch of decoration and flavor.
  • Hot or Cold Drink: This juice is delicious hot, like a relaxing infusion, or cold, perfect for summer!
